The PROXY MANAGER included in Privacy Optimizer is a handy and powerful tool to allow you to connect to the Internet via a proxy! Sometimes it is important that your IP is hidden or your IP is assigned to a different country.
1. The PROXY MANAGER offers you various actions:
You can add a new proxy to your list. Enter the name of the proxy, enter the IP address and Port. After you successfully save the new proxy you will see it in your proxy list (2). You can now mark the proxy and USE it. If you want to disable your proxy you can do it via the enable / disable function (3)
You can edit every saved proxy and apply the changes.
If a proxy is not worth having it in the list you can remove it.
Proxies you have a good experience with you can add to your favorites. If you “favorite” a proxy, you can quickly and easily switch from one proxy to another via the quick access menu! This comes in very handy as many public proxies get overloaded quickly,or some are quite slow. If you find a good proxy always favorite it!
CLEAR PROXY LIST:
If you want to clear all proxies in the list.
IMPORT PROXY LIST:
You can import a list of proxies via the PROXY IMPORTER. The CSV file should contain <Server Name>, <IP Address>, <Port> in order to process the import successfully! The entries should be split by one of these characters [, or ; or TAB] and each proxy server entry should be in new line.
In the event of a mistake in the CSV file, the proxy server import engine will try to organize the imported CSV file in the best way possible.
TEST MARKED PROXY:
Before you actually use a proxy, you should always test it. The PROXY TESTER will give you an idea on how fast a proxy performs.
Mark a proxy in your list and click TEST PROXY to perform the test!
TEST ALL PROXIES:
Before you actually use a proxy, you should always test it. If your list contains more than one proxy, you can easily test all proxies. The PROXY TESTER will give you an idea on how fast every proxy on the list performs.
If you found a proxy what suits you, you can mark it and activate it via clicking USE.
ENABLE / DISABLE PROXY
You can tell the PROXY MANAGER if you want work or surf with proxy enabled or disabled!
The proxies added via the PROXY MANAGER might not work with all available web browsers! Enabled proxies will act as system proxy as well! In some situations a restart of the web browser might be required. Internet Explorer and Firefox might need a page refresh (ctrl f5) in some situations!
Note: You can also quickly and easily switch between your favorite proxies via the quick access menu of Privacy Optimizer!
