How to troubleshoot and fix lag in Aion? (UPDATED)

It is no doubt that earlier with Aion, lag was as present as rainy days. Players reported high latency issues in Aion on various forums, blogs and fan sites. The good news is that since Aion 3.0 Ascension, the number of lagging players has decreased!
We have analyzed Aion lag in the last 4 months and must confirm that there is definitely less lag in the game! Even better news is that Aion is FREE to play since then! It must be said that there was of course latency/lag issues in the first few days of the new update, but that is normal as the game servers need to handle millions of update requests.

Concluding that players found their way around the lag might be true in some individual situations. Some also might have changed from wireless to wired connections and a few might have changed their ISP as well.

Player on Aion forums stated: "It takes me roughtly 3 minutes to go from the teleporter in Sanctum where you teleport in from different zones to run to the in-city teleporter in Sanctum and teleport to the warehouse/broker area & then get to the broker. Yes that short distance takes roughly 3 minutes because of the constant rubberbanding that goes on".
