How to avoid performance and lag issues in The Elder Scrolls Online?
The Elder Scrolls Online uses "Mega Server" a new scaling server technology that allows to host all players on one player management server, what actually is a group of servers used to allow players hosted on the same server being in different worlds.
As we understand this technology it could possible lower latency issues caused by overloaded (crowed) game servers. Example for this would be big towns whit thousands of players. Usually towns with such high population could cause lag for one or that other player! Also hug PvP battles could possible benefit form the Mega Servers.
Yet, latency issues are not only caused by game servers!
When the game server causes lag, you the player cannot directly influence! Only the game server admins can fix it. Game server issues are usually fixed very fast, so be patience is the best bet.

There is one exception regarding game server lag, where you the player can take action. Some game servers do start to lag for individual players when the lag technically is caused at the players or ISP end. In other words: If your computer has lag issues it can (rarely) happen that actually YOU causes the lag at the game server. But please note that game servers can disconnect those players form the server to avoid latency or ping issues!
Weak signal, bad lines or a general unstable low quality services provided by your ISP can cause latency and ping issues. As it is essential to have a fast performing (it is not always only the speed) and stable internet connection in order to play The Elder Scrolls Online you should test your internet connection speed and ping regularly.
